Curriculum Vitae
My quantity surveying career began with Fairclough Civil Engineering (now AMEC) in 1973, before moving into Building to assist in gaining my professional qualifications with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Building. I worked as a quantity surveyor at various levels for Sir Alfred McAlpine, Henry Boot Construction and Briggs Amasco on a wide range of building projects until 1987 when a change of career into Loss Adjusting beckoned. I joined Ellis & Buckle Chartered Loss Adjusters and gained my insurance and loss adjusting qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters, rising to Associate Director but was unfortunately made redundant in 1998. Thereafter I worked with Davies, Buckley Scott Associates and Garwyns in various management and specialist roles until joining the Complex Loss Team in Cunningham Lindsey United Kingdom in 2007. Shortly after joining Cunningham Lindsey I was selected as one of the team of five to undergo training in mediation, receiving accreditation through Clerksroom, and I am proud to be one of the founder members of Cunningham Lindsey Mediation Services. I am registered with the Civil Mediation Council. I am also a panel member of the LawWorks pro bono mediation provider and the Association of Northern Mediators. I have undertaken mediations through LawWorks, Court referrals through the National Mediation Helpline and private referrals. Because of my background, I specialise in construction mediation, insurance mediation and commercial mediation, although I am happy to mediate any type of dispute when called upon. After completing a course in Community Mediation I also act as a volunteer mediator for SMILE (Specialist Mediation in Lancashire East) where I am also a Trustee/ Director. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
